Spring 2025 DBT Level 1 Training

This course will cover the basic elements of DBT including theory, all modes of treatment, and interventions. In some organizations, this level of training is called “foundational or comprehensive”. This training is designed to be an introductory course in DBT, and to help you commence your journey towards beginning to offer comprehensive DBT. Throughout the training you will be expected to attend all sessions in their entirety as well as complete homework including role play practice. The course will occur over 12 weeks and will cover the following topics: Overview of theory and modes of treatment, pre-treatment, risk assessment and documentation, diary card, case conceptualization, behavioral principles and chain analysis, phone coaching, consultation team, skills group, stylistic strategies, contingency management, exposure, cognitive modification, and secondary targets. The specific learning objectives for each of the 12 days will be provided in the syllabus upon registration, along with the overall learning objectives for the course and information on the instructors, Drs. Hollie Granato, Christopher Hawkey, and Hugh Leonard. Sessions are weekly on Tuesdays from 4-6pm beginning March 4th, 2025 and concluding on May 20th, 2025. Cost is $1000. Sliding scale available.
